Bread, sugar, butter
Some wine for my memories
A box of Paracetamol
A packet of chocolate biscuits
A plug for the bath
Batteries for the clock
A copy of The Telegraph
A roll of Sellotape
To mend the photographs
To tape up the stenograph
Some ammunition for my arguments
A sewing kit for when I go away
Film for my camera, process paid,
Stamps for the letters not yet sent
And a black umbrella, for the rain
From the umbrella seller
A big, black umbrella.
